Start Here: What You Get If You Stick Around
PHYLLIS OF MANY CREATIVE GIFTS/THE TECH SAVVY CROCHETER
Welcome. If you’ve just found this newsletter, this post is for you. If you have been here a while, this is the post I will keep updated as things change, so consider it pinned for good reason.
Here is what Tech Savvy Crocheter is, what is free, what is not, and why.
What This Newsletter Is
Tech Savvy Crocheter is where I document, in real time, how I am using tech tools, like Airtable and AI, to get organized as a crocheter and crafter, so I can spend more time actually creating and less time hunting for the right yarn or the right pattern. It is not a tech tutorial channel, and it is not a craft blog. It’s a little of both, stitched together.
I write about what actually happens when I try to build a system for my stash and my pattern library, including the parts that did not work the first time. If you want the clean, polished version of this story, you are in the wrong place. If you want to see the real build, including the wrong turns, you are exactly where you should be.
What Stays Free
The weekly series is not going anywhere. Every post documenting the actual build of the Airtable system, from the first messy stash photo through to where things stand now, is free and stays free.
• The full Tech Savvy Crocheter series, post by post
• Every mistake I made along the way, in detail, so you do not have to repeat them
• Notes a few times a week, for the smaller in-between moments
👉 If all you want is the story, the free tier gives you the whole thing. No asterisk.
What’s in the Premium Library
I recently turned on paid subscriptions, and I am building out a Premium Content Library: things that are different in kind from the weekly series, not just a longer version of it. Here is what that means in practice.
The Tech Savvy Crocheter Instructional Booklet
This is the comprehensive, start-to-finish manual for building the exact Airtable system I write about in the series: yarn inventory, pattern library, the linked yardage checks, all of it, organized into seven sections plus four appendices so you can build your own version end to end instead of piecing it together from old posts.
This is being written section by section, and paid subscribers get each new section as soon as it is ready, ahead of anyone else.
A Subscriber Discount on the Handcrafted Baby Gifts eGuide
My eGuide for making handcrafted baby gifts is available on Gumroad. Paid subscribers here get a standing 25% discount code on it as part of their membership.
New Premium Drops as I Build Them
Beyond the booklet, anything I create that is worth more than a blog post, such as templates, guides, and structured resources, will land here first for paid subscribers. I am not going to promise a fixed monthly schedule before I know what that actually looks like in practice. What I will promise is that paid subscribers always see new premium material before anyone else does.
Why $5 a Month
For the cost of just one crochet or knit pattern, you get early access to a manual that will save you hours of trial and error if you are building anything similar yourself, discounts on materials that I sell elsewhere, and a first look at everything premium I make going forward. It also directly funds the time this newsletter takes, which means more of it gets made.
